To view a painting, read about it or talk about it with reasonable proficiency there are three key elements of a painting that you should become familiar with. They are:
It's form & character (what it is).
It's make-up (material, media, whatever it's made of).
And, it's style, genre, movement, school (how it's categorized)
These are questions that have been asked about me and my work as a painter by individual collectors, jurors, and a few journalists and curators.
